Data Analysis

Top Performers Analysis

The data shows that donk from Team Spirit leads the 2025 season with a Rating 3.0 of 1.39, which is pretty impressive considering he played 142 maps. However, ZywOo from Vitality demonstrates extraordinary consistency with 189 maps played and the highest K-D differential of +977.

Russian players dominate the top rankings, with donk, m0NESY, and sh1ro all entering in the top 5. This suggests players in the CIS region are more impactful in the game.

Elite Players Comparison

Below we compare how efficiently top players get kills and how much impact they have in each round.

Key Findings

Insights

Looking at the table, a clear pattern shows up: donk fits the "high-impact star fragger" profile, dominating in KPR, Rating 3.0, Impact, ADR, and multi-kill rounds. On the other hand, ZywOo and m0NESY are slightly less explosive but still very strong.

Glossary of Terms

Rating 3.0
HLTV's latest comprehensive performance metric that evaluates a player's overall impact in matches. It considers kills, deaths, damage, survival, and multikill situations. A rating of 1.00 represents average performance, while anything above 1.20 is considered elite tier. Rating 3.0 is the newest iteration, replacing Rating 2.0 and 2.1 at 08/20/2025.
K/D Ratio (Kill/Death)
A fundamental statistic representing the ratio of kills to deaths. A K/D of 1.00 means a player gets exactly one kill for every death. Top-tier players typically maintain ratios above 1.10, with elite players exceeding 1.30. This metric shows raw fragging efficiency.
K-D Diff (Kill-Death Differential)
The absolute difference between total kills and total deaths over the measured period. A positive differential (+789, +977) indicates the player secured more kills than deaths, contributing net positive eliminations to their team. This metric accumulates over time and shows total impact.
Maps Played
The total number of competitive CS2 maps a player has participated in during the measured timeframe. Professional matches typically consist of Best-of-1 (BO1), Best-of-3 (BO3), or Best-of-5 (BO5) series. More maps indicate higher event attendance and team reliance on the player.
Rounds
The total number of individual rounds played. Each CS2 map consists of up to 24 regular rounds (first to 13 wins), with potential overtime rounds (6 additional rounds per overtime period). This metric shows total playing time and experience volume. A typical competitive map averages 20-25 rounds.
CIS Region (Commonwealth of Independent States)
A competitive region in esports comprising former Soviet Union countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus. The CIS region has historically produced some of Counter-Strike's most skilled players and dominant teams, with strong infrastructure and talent development programs.
Top 20 Teams Filter
A HLTV ranking system that identifies the 20 strongest professional CS2 teams globally based on tournament results, opponent strength, and recent performance. Filtering statistics by Top 20 teams ensures data quality by focusing only on matches against elite competition, excluding lower-tier tournaments that might inflate statistics.
KPR (Kills Per Round)
The average number of kills a player achieves per round played. This metric shows a player's consistent fragging output. A KPR above 0.70 is considered strong, while elite players often exceed 0.80. For example, if a player gets 80 kills across 100 rounds, their KPR is 0.80. This stat is more granular than K/D ratio as it accounts for round-by-round performance.
Impact Rating
A specialized metric measuring how impactful a player's kills are to round outcomes. Not all kills are equal - getting an opening kill, clutching a 1vX situation, or securing multi-kills have higher impact than trading kills. Impact rating weighs these high-value situations more heavily. Players with high impact ratings often make game-changing plays that directly lead to round wins.
ADR (Average Damage per Round)
The average amount of HP damage a player deals per round. Since each player has 100 HP (plus armor), ADR shows how much a player softens up or eliminates enemies. An ADR of 80+ is excellent, meaning the player nearly eliminates one opponent per round on average. This metric is valuable because it captures contribution even when assists or "traded" kills aren't credited.
1+ Kill Rounds (%)
The percentage of rounds where a player secured at least one kill. This shows consistency and participation rate. A high percentage (75%+) indicates the player is actively contributing to most rounds rather than going missing for stretches. Top fraggers typically have 1+ kill round percentages between 70-80%, showing they're reliably getting at least one elimination per round.
Fragging Efficiency
A general term referring to how effectively a player converts opportunities into eliminations. It encompasses multiple stats including KPR, K/D ratio, and accuracy. High fragging efficiency means a player maximizes their kill potential with minimal wasted utility or positioning mistakes. This is often the defining trait separating top-tier players from average professionals.
Opening Kill
The first elimination in a round, which statistically gives the team a significant advantage (often 70%+ round win rate when securing opening kill). Players who consistently get opening kills are highly valued as "entry fraggers." This stat isn't always visible in basic tables but contributes heavily to impact ratings and overall team success.
