What happens after a stop?
Enforcement outcomes (warning / citation / arrest) broken down by stop reason and by race. BOLO/Warrant stops result in arrests 42% of the time. Black drivers face an arrest rate nearly 3× that of white drivers (2.6% vs 0.9%).
Interpretation

Enforcement outcomes are associated with both stop reason and demographic group. Some categories end primarily in warnings or citations, while others show a much higher arrest share, suggesting that what happens after a stop is structured rather than uniform.

The demographic comparison adds another layer to this pattern. These differences do not by themselves explain causation, but they do indicate that outcome disparities deserve closer examination in the later project milestones.

Key Takeaway

Post-stop outcomes are not evenly distributed. The data suggests that both the reason for the stop and the characteristics of the stopped population are associated with different enforcement results, making outcome analysis central to the larger StopAtlas story.
